A complex dark and brooding wine with aromas and flavours of black fruits, violets and wild thyme.

Mt Difficulty is a boutique winery located in Bannockburn, Central Otago, and was named after the mountain overlooking Felton road and the southern Cromwell basin. As the vineyards are ageing Mt Difficulty are starting to see additional complexity emerging each vintage. Inviting and opulent, the palate is flush with sweet cherry & blueberry, followed by trademark earth & savoury notes and framed by baking spice and fine grained French Oak. The fruit floods through to the finish with a juicy balance, indicating acidity that will keep the wine aging well.

Nga Waka's name is taken from Nga Waka A Kupe (The Canoes of Kupe), the three hills, which lie like upturned canoes, forming a backdrop for the town of Martinborough. Nga Waka produce food-friendly wines that are built to last, emphasizing structure, texture and balance. This wine is a rich, succulent and powerful Martinborough Pinot Noir showing dark berry and spice flavours underpinned by silky tannins and subtle, refined oak from barrel maturation.

Intense aromas of ripe cherries and boysenberries sit alongside notes of dark chocolate and layered over just a hint of spicy, earthiness. It is an intense mouthful full of juicy boysenberry, cherry and dark chocolate flavours and with a weighty texture on the palate. It has loads of supple, fine tannins and the finish is long, spicy and delicious, suggesting a wine that will develop nicely over the coming years.

Rockburn's 'hands-off' approach delivers a pure expression of Central Otago to your glass; an expressive nose and deeply fruited palate displaying vibrant notes of red and black cherry, rich mocha and supple, silky tannins leading into a very long finish. The grapes for Roaring Meg come from Mt Difficulty's Cromwell basin vineyards managed by their dedicated viticultural team. The addition of fruit from their Bendigo vineyard has lends a powerful, darker edge. Roaring Meg Pinot Noir features red, blue and black berry fruit aromatics. The palate is harmonious with rich dark berries and a savoury line underneath. A hint of spice and dried thyme complement the succulent fruit. Fine silky tannins frame the wine with a great flow and finish.

The Akarua vineyard is a unique site, measuring 52 hectares, 34.5 of which planted with vines. The estate is tucked into the foothills of the mountains rising above Kawarua River upstream of Lack Dunstan, in the midst of a breathtaking landscape. Located in Bannockburn in the Central Otago region, the vineyard occupies three west-facing terraces and enjoys intense sun all year round. This outstanding terroir lends remarkable character to the Pinot Noir in a reflection of the spectacular mountains surrounding the estate. Floral and spicy, it has a nose of raspberries and blackcurrant, while the pallet derives of black cherry.

Land that was once a high country sheep station is now a flourishing vineyard. Sheep and rabbits co-existed on the land for quite some time but the sheep couldn't keep up with the nocturnal activity of the rabbits, and in the end were driven off the land. Rabbits now run free on the vineyard and fuelled by high altitude Pinot Noir, some are reputed to be the size of ponies, but that's another story... The Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir is made in a very soft, fruit forward, low tannin style - a wine to be savoured and supped, rather than an assault on the senses.

Kim Crawford Small Parcels are micro-cuvées representing the very best of what New Zealand's pristine, cool-climate vineyards can produce. Hand picked and locally fermented. A long, cool ferment and extended post ferment maceration soak lead to beautiful colour extraction and rich, deep fruit and spice flavours. The grapes were pressed before undergoing malolactic fermentation and barrel ageing in 25% new French oak to add further complexity and texture.
